Wild Bergamot

Monarda fistulosa - Wild bergamot, Bee Balm or Horse-Mint, is a highly adaptable native plant that thrives in most soils and is a favorite nectar source for a wide variety of bees and butterflies, and in sometimes rare and beautiful occasions, hummingbirds. To use Wild Bergamot medicinally, the flower top is dried to make into teas. Bergamot is a host plant for the Hermit Sphinx moth (Sphinx emeritus).

Plant 18-24 inches apart.

Tip: Bee Balm looks beautiful anywhere but some of our favorite locations include it mixed within your vegetables to attract the pollinators or around borders of gardens/walkways. Steep for 5-10 minutes in hot water. Wild Bergamot helps to relieve headaches, indigestion, colds and flu.
