Swamp Milkweed
Asclepias incarnata - Swamp Milkweed is a favorite host plant of the Monarch butterfly. Since Monarchs have been listed as endangered this is an incredibly important plant to put in your garden to help do your part to increase their population. It is also a nectar source for many other pollinators including hummingbirds. Itβs a tall perennial with a beautiful flowering cluster of rose-purple flowers.

Tip: If you have a low-lying area of your garden or yard that stays wet or moist, this is the perfect plant to fill it in. We also recommend planting this in rain water gardens.
