Spilanthes

Acmella oleracea - Also known as the "Toothache Plant" or "Electric Daisy," Spilanthes is a unique medicinal herb prized for its bright yellow, button-like flowers with a red center. When chewed, the flowers create a tingling, numbing sensation, traditionally used to support oral health and ease toothaches. This fast-growing, low-maintenance annual thrives in warm weather and adds a playful, pollinator-friendly touch to garden beds and containers.

Space plants about 12-18 inches apart.

Tip: Besides adding to herb gardens, Spilanthes makes a fun conversation piece—its electric buzz effect is a surprising and interactive way to experience herbal medicine!
