Savory, Winter
Satureja montana - A hardy, evergreen perennial, Winter Savory is a must-have for herb gardens with its spicy, peppery flavor and aromatic foliage. Often used as a culinary herb, it pairs well with beans, meats, and roasted vegetables, adding depth and warmth to dishes. Tiny white or pale pink flowers bloom in late summer, attracting bees and other pollinators. Drought-tolerant and easy to grow, Winter Savory is a perfect addition to rock gardens, herb beds, and container plantings.
Space plants about 12-18 inches apart.
Tip: Besides adding to culinary gardens, Winter Savory makes a great edging plant for walkways, where its fragrant leaves release their scent when brushed against.
