Sage, Garden

Salvia officinalis - An easy to grow perennial herb, Common Sage (or Garden Sage), is a semi-shrubby plant with wooly leaves often used in cooking. It has spikes of blue-purple flowers in the summer that pollinators love.

Plant 1.5-2 feet apart.

Tip: We love keeping sage close to the back door for easy access in containers. It also attracts beneficial insects to your garden so we like to plant on the edge of beds as well. For the best flavor, harvest before the plant flowers for the season. You can pick the leaves off or use scissors to cut them.
