Roselle Hibiscus

Hibiscus sabdariffa - The Roselle Hibiscus plant, also known as the “Florida Cranberry” is a versatile addition to your medicinal herb garden and grows well here in the south! The bright red calyxes are filled with medicinal benefits and boost a tangy flavor.

Space plants 3-6 feet apart.

Tip:  You can dry the calyx or use it fresh. There are a variety of ways to use hibiscus. We of course love the traditional hibiscus tea where we steep the calyx for 10+ minutes. You can also make jam, syrups, and sauces with it. Hibiscus is packed with antioxidants  and may therefore help prevent damage and disease caused by the buildup of free radicals. It may also help lower blood pressure.
