Parsley, Curly
Petroselinum crispum - A dense herbaceous biennial, Curly Parsley, forms thick mounds of ferny dark leaves. It’s harvested typically for use as a garnish and requires fertile soil. Parsley grows into a plant one season, and after winter's cold temperatures, it blooms, sets seeds, and dies the second season. Parsley is also a favorite host plant of the black swallowtail butterfly caterpillar.
Space 10-12 inches apart.
Tip: It is often used as a 'filler' in the 'spiller-thriller-filler' container combination, providing a canvas of foliage against which the thriller plants stand out.
