Galium verum - A delicate and sprawling perennial, Our Lady’s Bedstraw is known for its clusters of tiny, bright yellow flowers that bloom in summer, releasing a sweet, honey-like fragrance. Historically used to stuff mattresses (hence the name), this herb was also valued for its dye-making properties, producing rich yellow hues. Its fine, trailing foliage makes it an excellent ground cover, while its nectar-rich flowers attract bees and butterflies. Drought-tolerant and easy to grow, it thrives in meadows, wildflower gardens, and well-drained soils.

Space plants about 12-18 inches apart.

Tip: Besides adding to wildflower gardens, Our Lady’s Bedstraw can be used as a natural dye plant or a fragrant addition to herbal crafting projects.
