Mountain Mint, Hoary

Pycnanthemum incanum - The genus name derives from the Greek for "dense" and "flower" and describes the crowded flower clusters. Mountain Mint has many species that are closely related and difficult to distinguish from one another. Hoary Mountain Mint has tall stems with clumps of flowers and whitened leaves. It smells amazing and is a favorite by all pollinators – bees, butterflies, skippers, wasps, and a myriad of other insects.

Space 12 inches apart.

Tip: This is a good garden plant for borders, native plant gardens, pollinator conservation plantings, and wildflower meadows. Hoary Mountain Mint is traditionally used in teas to help relieve headaches. Allow the hot water to steep the leaves for 5-10 minutes for a mint-like aromatic tea.
