Marshmallow

Althaea - Grown as an ornamental plant in your medicinal herb garden, Marshmallow thrives in moist soil, full sun, and has beautiful delicate blooms in late summer. In the second and third year of growing, you can also harvest the roots to dry and make into teas to support dry coughs during the winter months.

Space 2-3 feet apart.

Tip: Clean the roots then chop them up and dry them immediately after harvesting. The dried roots are excellent to add to your “winter wellness cabinet” for teas to soothe dry coughs or support digestion. We recommend a longer steeping period for marshmallow to gather the best goodness.
