Lemon Balm
Melissa officinalis - A tried and true, Lemon Balm is one herb everyone should have in their garden or herb containers. It’s a member of the mint family which means it’s a vigorous grower. It’s a lovely culinary herb and equally as admirable medicinal herb. Lemon Balm makes a refreshing addition to seafood, salads, drinks, and of course is most commonly used as tea. The benefits include stress and anxiety reduction, promotes sleep, and helps ease pain and discomfort from indigestion.
Plant 18-24 inches apart.
Tip: Besides the medicinal and culinary benefits, the leaves are incredibly fragrant so Lemon Balm can also act as a natural pest and deer deterrent.
