Golden Alexander
Zizia aurea - This early blooming perennial is a wonderful wildflower that attracts pollinators and a host plant for the black swallowtail butterfly and the woodland swallowtail butterfly. Golden Alexander is a member of the carrot family and has a look like Queen Anne’s Lace. Typically the plant does not bloom in its first season but will in the second season.
Space plants 18-24” apart.
Tip: We love to grow as many host plants as possible to support our backyard wildlife and this is a host plant for the black swallowtail butterfly and woodland swallowtail butterfly.
