Ginger

Zingiber officinale - Ginger is so fun to grow here in Georgia because it thrives in the heat and humidity! It seems intimidating but this is a plant we love to recommend to people wanting to grow medicinal herbs because it’s so fun to harvest. It takes about 9 months to grow but the tropical foliage adds a nice touch to the garden.

Tip: There are so many fantastic uses for ginger but some of our favorites include freezing pieces of ginger so you can easily mince/shred for cooking. Dry pieces in the dehydrator to add to herbal teas. Make tinctures with grain alcohol to use for digestion support. Or make fresh candied ginger pieces!
