Comfrey
Symphytum officinalis - A member of the Borage family, this herbaceous perennial shrub yields wound-healing capabilities. Comfrey has thick, hairy leaves and long stems with flowers that form in clusters. The texture of the leaves and height of the flowers adds some variety to your garden plus the leaves are high in protein making a great feed for chickens!
Plant 8-10 inches apart.
Tip: Layer comfrey in areas you want to adds some height or in the back areas of garden beds. Comfrey is not recommended for internal use but extracts of the leaves and roots are used as topical ointments to help with wound-healing.
